RookReel Creative was founded in 2025 in Portland, Oregon by friends and creative colleagues, Ethan Behee and Emma Bolkovatz. Together, Ethan and Emma offer a combined 14+ years of experience working in the creative industry. Our overlapping and unique skillsets turn RookReel Creative into a one-stop-shop to expertly serve any projects you want to start with us.
Emma Bolkovatz
Emma Bolkovatz lived in Charlotte, North Carolina and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, before arriving in her current home: Portland, Oregon. She holds a Bachelors in Film from Portland State University and recently began her Associates in Marketing.
Emma has a strong passion for sharing stories, whether they’re her own or others’ who need their voices heard. She has worked many years in Video Production and Editing for film, social media, and YouTube projects. She also works with clients as a Portrait Photographer, and Social Media Marketer.
In her free time, Emma spoils her cat, Cheddar, spends time in nature, and works on writing the book she hopes to one day publish.
Ethan Behee
Ethan Behee is from Bellingham, Washington. He holds a Bachelors in Film, Graphic Design, and Design Thinking from Portland State University.
Ethan approaches creative work with a curious need to learn and grow, and strives to “find the fun”. He has spent nearly a decade Producing and Editing YouTube and podcast content for channels with a combined total of over 902.5 million views. He’s designed logos, icons, websites, and apparel.
Ethan’s creative energy is also spent designing board games, video game UI, needle-felting, telling/illustrating improv bedtime stories, and building cities in Minecraft.
Tragically, he is allergic to potatoes.
